Running Free

The herd is down in the forest now and there is so much space for running! This was taken about 5 weeks ago or so when they first went down to the forest. Ace had not arrived yet. As you can see from the pics below, they run all the time! But its good for them, they get exercise, tone them up, and it gets all the excess energy out of the little guys ;)
Buck, Blaze and Ace running around. The girls have been away for a month at the stud farm. The stud is a gorgeous black and white paint and he is Ace's sire. So we will have all these little half siblings running around next year!
The boys running to greet me......."you got any food for us?"
Buck and Blaze are really booking it here....the race is on!
Oh Buck is such a gentleman he let the little guy win to build his self esteem...or so he tells me ;)

New Boys and Birthday Boys!!

Well its been a while since I last blogged and a lot has happened! First off this is the NEW GUY Ace :) He is a really nice little yearling colt. He is 6 days younger than Blaze, it works out really well because now Blaze has someone to play with :)

Ace is a registered Overo Paint. He is a neat little guy, very nice manners. He is wonderful to have at the farm. Eventually he will be sold, he was bought as a sales prospect to train under saddle. For now we are just enjoying his chaming personality!

Blaze has turned 1!! yay! He is the little guy on the very first post of this blog. He has been through tremendous trials and tribulations in his short life but has triumphed through it all and is doing extremely well.

Look how big this boy is now! Even though he is not a full Percheron, he definitely has the 'draft' look :) Next year Blaze too will be started under saddle. Right now he is prefecting his ground manners, being introduced to new situations and just being a horse, playing with his new pal Ace.
