My LIttle Boy is Growing Up!

Here is my little Ace man now. He is 16 months old and growing into quite a handsome guy. Now that winter is on its way and he is growing his winter coat he is turning a beautiful deep sorrel color :)
The other day we were having some fun in one of our training sessions and I had the saddle on Ace for a bit. He looked good so I took some pictures. When I loaded the pictures on the camera and compared them to a picture I took of him with the saddle on when he was almost 13 months I could really see how much my little guy has grown!

The saddle almost swarmed him here, but above he looks good and it looks like it fits him! He is going to be a handsome trail horse.

Its So Cold

Acer likes to play a lot. He is such a cutie....

The weather is getting cold. Very cold. There is a frost warning for this evening. Poor little Acer has a shaved side because he had a touch of rain rot.

Growing and Gaining Experience

ACE MAN! He is getting so big now! He is taller and filled out, such a handsome boy! I cannot wait to ride him! I keep telling him that he is going to be my trail horse ;)
I like to take Ace out sometimes and introduce him to all kinds of new things. I want him to be familiar and comfortable with this stuff when he is a riding horse and the best way is to introduce them when they are little guys. So I take him down the road and cars pass us; we walk through the trails; step over logs and under branches; listen to things rattle and make noise and just experience all kinds of new stuff. Soon I hope to be able to pony him off of one of the big guys which will also be an invaluable training tool. Anything I have in my hand goes on his back and I just around him too.

ACE-MAN in His First Show!!

Ace (Tuxedos Flyin Ace) and Lito (Tuxedos Lucky Lito) in their first show ever! whoohoo! The boys both did great and I am happy to say even with all the competition (and there was lots) Ace did NOT come in last :)
Ace strutting his stuff for the judge. I was nervous, I have never been in a show before and there was a lot of people around watching, but it was fun!
Ace doing a pivot. He did it REALLY well, see how he is crossing his legs in the pivot?
Lining up for inspection by the judge. What a great day :)

Ace and His Little Bro...and Others

Ace takes a chomp on Lito. He is just teaching his little brother who is the boss.
Aren't they so cute together? Don't they look so much a like?
Ace and Lito getting acquainted.
Ace just having a blast running through the fields.
The neighbour bought some horses and put them out in the fields next to my horses. These guys just noticed then new horses and are watching them intently.

ACE-MAN In His First Parade!!

Ace was in the Stirling Parade last weekend. He was such a gooooood boy! It was his first time out in a parade with all the noise and people and other animals around and he was sooo good. I was very pleased with him.
Tuxedos Flyin Ace walking beside his little brother Tuxedos Lucky Lito.
Ace and Lito in the parade. They got lots of comments beacause they looked like twins! The little filly in front of them in this picture is their sister and the black and white stallion behind them is everyones daddy. It was a family affair!!
Ace and his daddy hang out at the end of the parade. It was a great day and I like this picture of them. His dad is awesome too!

New Boys and Birthday Boys!!

Well its been a while since I last blogged and a lot has happened! First off this is the NEW GUY Ace :) He is a really nice little yearling colt. He is 6 days younger than Blaze, it works out really well because now Blaze has someone to play with :)

Ace is a registered Overo Paint. He is a neat little guy, very nice manners. He is wonderful to have at the farm. Eventually he will be sold, he was bought as a sales prospect to train under saddle. For now we are just enjoying his chaming personality!

Blaze has turned 1!! yay! He is the little guy on the very first post of this blog. He has been through tremendous trials and tribulations in his short life but has triumphed through it all and is doing extremely well.

Look how big this boy is now! Even though he is not a full Percheron, he definitely has the 'draft' look :) Next year Blaze too will be started under saddle. Right now he is prefecting his ground manners, being introduced to new situations and just being a horse, playing with his new pal Ace.
